Isabel Lucena is a graphic designer and tutor. She studied Graphic Design in Lisbon's Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design & Marketing. In 2004 she spent one year in Austria studying in Vienna's Universitat fur Angewandte Kunst - University of applied Arts, under the Conceptual Art Department. In 2005 she returned to Lisbon and got her diploma in Graphic Design and enrolled in a series of workshops before moving to the Netherlands in 2006.
In 2008 she completed the Master Course in Communication and Design from the Sandberg Institute, the Masters Program of the Rietveld Academy, in Amsterdam. During the four years she lived in the Netherlands she worked together with the design studio Thonik, the non-profit organization ALLMEDIA and as an independent designer for cultural institutions such as the Stedelijk Museum, the NIMK - Dutch Media Art Institute and the Amsterdam cultural center deBalie.
In 2009 she moved back to Lisbon where she develops projects mainly in the area of Editorial Design and Identity Design. She teaches Graphic Design as well as Corporate Identity at the High National Degree of Communication Design and Multimedia at ETIC, Lisbon.
