Her name is Annett Höland. She is a graphic designer currently based in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. She graduated from the BA Graphic Design course at Central Saint Martins London College of Art and Design in 2009 and recently finished her Masters at Werkplaats Typografie (NL).
She is interested in the social practices linked to the uses of the book and the act of reading in general. This goes beyond the design of printed matter and the book as an object into the digital world. Grounded in conceptual thinking, critical reflection and a project specific approach she works towards various outcomes, allowing information to be communicated in the best possible way.
In addition to commissioned projects she is involved in research-oriented and theory-based work. Based on an interest in alternative ways of ordering and structuring knowledge she has worked on projects related to the idea of the library since 2009. She aims at linking graphic design to the structures of one's experiences by setting up systems which are open for interpretation and individual use. Besides giving form to content she is interested in generating content myself. She likes to see the act of editing not only in the context of compiling a book but in a broader sense, for example when bringing people together for a conference or setting up a workshop. Since 2011 she is teaching Graphic Design at a preliminary course in Chur, Switzerland.
Collaboration is an important aspect of her work and she is committed to develop projects with and not only for clients. She highly values the exchange and discussion with others – whether clients or other designers.
She is available for freelance work and always interested in new challenges.
She is currently looking for opportunities for collaboration.
